PolyTech ice detection for Senvion turbines available

The PolyTech ice detection system is still available for Senvion wind turbines as usual and is fully integrated into the control system. This deep integration enables the automatic starting and stopping of the wind turbines. Functionality and added value are accessible without restriction both for existing systems and for new retrofits.

The PolyTech ice detection system is deeply integrated into the control system of Senvion turbines of the types 3XM and MM. A large part of the service business with Senvion turbines is now carried out by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service. For the implementation of new retrofits as well as for the operation of the systems, PolyTech relies on the continuation of the successful cooperation.

Added value of the existing systems secured

For ice detection systems already installed under Senvion, this means that operation and spare parts supply will continue to be ensured as usual. In addition, optional upgrades can be used to further extend the added value and functionality of the system. System updates also ensure that the ice detection is always up to date.

Implementation of new retrofits

Interested operators of existing Senvion wind turbines can now be supplied with the PolyTech ice detection system in cooperation with the respective service provider. Operators also benefit from the deep integration of the system in new retrofits. The well-known added values of the DNV-GL certified rotor blade-based ice detection system, such as increased AEP and reduced operating costs, are thus available without restrictions.

Efficient ice detection available for other manufacturers

The rotor blade-based ice detection system of PolyTech is also available on Enercon wind turbines with full integration depth. For all other types of wind turbines the system is available as a manufacturer-independent monitoring solution. The customer has the choice of receiving the hardware as a one-off investment or ice detection as a service without initial investment costs.
