SeaRoc Group Installs Communications Solution on World’s First Offshore Reactive Compensation Station at Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm

SeaRoc Group has deployed its third SeaHub Communications System on the world’s first offshore Reactive Compensation Station (RCS), at Ørsted’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm.

When operational in 2020, Hornsea Project One will overtake Walney Extension to become the biggest offshore wind farm in the world.

The SeaHub system is supplied as an 8ft ISO DNV certified container, housing all the equipment required for reliable communications and logistical data sharing for the 1.2GW project located 120km from shore.

The SeaHub installed on the RCS is the third to be deployed to the Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm, and the seventh in total to support Ørsted’s UK portfolio of projects, including Race Bank, Burbo Bank Extension and Walney Extension.

“This particular SeaHub has received some modifications in order to support the requirements of the Reactive Compensation Station on which it was installed.” Anthony Collingridge, SeaRoc Group Project Manager for Ørsted commented.
