HARTING strengthens Management Board


With effect from 1 March 2011, the HARTING Technology Group has appointed Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Torsten Ratzmann as Senior Vice President Operations. Alongside global management of all production sites, his future area of responsibility includes all logistics procedures and goods movements, plus the management of HARTING Applied Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, where special machine and tool manufacturing is carried out for the Group. In addition to his new function, he will remain active as managing director of HARTING Electric GmbH & Co. KG and HARTING Electronics GmbH & Co. KG.

Completing his studies in material engineering at Osnabruck Technical College, Torsten Ratzmann started his professional career in 1992 as a development engineer in plastics technology for Wilhelm Karmann GmbH in Osnabruck. During his two years as director of plastics production at Vorwerk Semco S. A. in France, his main tasks included optimizing process technology, developing new technical processes and building a new French directing team. In 1999, Torsten Ratzmann took on the role of Production Director at Johnson Controls Interiors, Wuppertal. His tasks included introducing new technology and managing the project to introduce a globally deployed business system at the Wuppertal headquarters. In 2001, Torsten Ratzmann became CEO of the Johnson Controls spin-off Lunke-Automotive GmbH in Wuppertal, with responsibility for Production, Product Development and Sales. During his tenure at Grote + Hartmann between 2003 and 2005, Torsten Ratzmann was Plant Manager, where he reported directly to the sole managing director and held responsibility for the Production, Finance, Personnel, Industrial Engineering, QS and IT areas. He then moved to Bühler Motor, Nuremberg, where he was active as Corporate Director, Operations. Since 2007, Torsten Ratzmann is managing director of HARTING Electronics GmbH & Co. KG, and took on the additional role as managing director of HARTING Electric GmbH & Co. KG in 2008.
