Global opportunities to be explored at Subsea Expo

With an increased number of UK companies sought to do business overseas in 2019, Subsea UK will explore the current and future global opportunities across a number of markets at this year’s Subsea Expo.

As the industry experiences record highs in investment and exports, the Department for International Trade (DIT) will be hosting an International Trade Day on Wednesday, 6th February to highlight the opportunities for international expansion across the industry.

The trade day will see DIT host essential country briefing sessions on key global markets including Azerbaijan, Brazil, Egypt, Kuwait and Mexico.

Delegates will learn about new business opportunities arising from operators’ latest global project developments and their subsea requirements. There will also be the opportunity to hear from UK export finance officials, export licensing officials and global offshore wind specialists.

DIT will share the latest advice on market entry strategies, financing for exporters and overseas buyers of UK capital goods and services and compliance with export controls.

Throughout Subsea Expo, DIT will also provide an opportunity for delegates to take part in one-to-one meetings with in-country experts in a bid to match UK expertise with demand from key oil and gas provinces, including Azerbaijan, India, Brazil, Mexico, Mozambique, Nigeria, Norway, Senegal, Tanzania and the US.

In addition, there will be networking opportunities, including a drinks reception on Tuesday 5th February.  As part of DIT’s involvement in Subsea Expo will also see the exhibition welcome trade delegations from countries including Mexico, Brazil, Ghana and India.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “Every year DIT’s involvement in Subsea Expo provides an excellent platform for companies to explore the opportunities which exist in the global subsea market. Having so many of the department’s experts in one place presents a unique opportunity to explore how your business could be exported globally.
