GES SUPPORTS NABRAWIND in THE INSTALLATION OF ITS TOWER PROTOTYPE

  • GES contributes with its expertise in the installation of wind turbines
  • The tower prototype will validate a new design to reduce the turbine installation costs

May 2018. GES is cooperating with Nabrawind in the installation of a new self-erecting tower prototype, patented by the Spanish engineering company. GES has taken part in the first assembly tests and is now in charge of the erection of the prototype, which will be 160 meter high, in Eslava (Spain).

Nabrawind aims to validate the innovative design, that will make possible a dramatic- decrease in the tower erection costs. The use of a modular self-erecting system, avoids the big cranes costs currently used in r the installation of the tallest wind turbines.

GES has been a pioneer in the renewable sector and is always aware of the new trends in the industry, adapting its services to the changing needs of a constantly evolving sector. “Being involved in this project has a strategic component for GES”, Alberto de Alfonso, Installation Business Unit Director said “We are very pleased to take part in this project. We really think that Nabrawind’s design can revolutionize the wind turbine assembly process. This collaboration in such a milestone for the turbine installation sector is very exciting for the whole team.”
