ENGIE Fabricom Secures Major Contracts in Offshore Wind

One of the UK’s largest engineering and construction companies takes a firm foothold in the offshore wind energy market as it has successfully been awarded a record number of contracts wins for the business in this sector.

ENGIE Fabricom – headquartered in Grimsby, with offices in Immingham, Lowestoft, Stokesley and Middlesbrough – has reported it has secured over £20 million pounds worth of business in offshore wind following a series of wins over the course of the past 12 months. This has seen the business undertake projects on behalf of tier one companies working directly on the UK’s largest offshore wind farms.

The company is well experienced with a team of highly skilled engineers in delivering an extensive range of engineering services from anode installation, cathodic protection and grout repairs right through to safety modifications, turbine inspection and substation commissioning.

Investing over £110k into its manufacturing and construction facilities at its Immingham site, ENGIE Fabricom has also recently invested in its equipment to add an additional four Remote Operating Vehicles (ROV’s) to add to its already impressive range of specialist equipment.

Most recently, the company has also successfully completed two external audits carried out by major industry players Lloyds Register and Achilles. These reviews highlighted the high standards within the business and confirmed it is operating in full accordance with strict standards including BS ISO 45001 and UVDB B2 assessment processes.

Speaking about the contract wins, Richard Webster, CEO at ENGIE Fabricom said: “Over the last few years the offshore wind market is booming and, already having an extensive portfolio of projects in this sector, we have successfully used our experience and expertise to position the business as the leader and go to business for our specialist services in this sector.

“As such, we also have a very strong project pipeline in this field for the next 12 months and we look forward to continuing delivering projects of this nature to very high standards that ENGIE Fabricom is well known for.”

The wins further consolidate the company’s position as a market leader in the offshore wind sector and accelerates the global strategy of the ENGIE Group to be the world leader in zero carbon solutions.

According to RenewableUK, its latest report highlights that the offshore wind global market has grown by 16% in the last 12 months with the UK remaining the largest single market with projects totaling over 38.4GW, currently at different stages of development. And due to its significant growth in the offshore win sector, the company has also bolstered its business development team, headed up by Andrew Stephens, with the recruitment of three additional team members, including one internal appointment.

ENGIE Fabricom is part of the global energy group ENGIE, a 150-year-old energy and services provider with 150,000 employees operating across the world. The business provides a complete turnkey solution from project concept to completion across sectors including renewables, oil and gas, power, chemical and energy from waste.
