Responding to the release of new paper, Energy Networks for the Future, which highlights the need for a new partnership between the public and private sector to deliver the energy infrastructure needed to achieve net zero decarbonisation;
Ben Miller, Senior Policy Manager at Scottish Renewables, said: “This new report from Regen and Scottish Power Energy Networks explores the ingredients needed for a smarter, greener grid which could better support the deployment of renewable energy in Scotland.
“Its conclusion – that our net-zero ambitions must now sit at the heart of energy regulation – is correct. Failing to heed this need for a new focus on the climate emergency risks missing out on not just the environmental benefits of more renewable energy, but the economic ones too.”
