BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB) reaccredited by DAkkS

BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB), one of Germany’s leading service providers in the field of wind energy, was recently granted accreditation by the German Accreditation Board (DAkkS) to conduct wind measurement in accordance with DIN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. At the same time, the company was reaccredited in the field of “determining wind potential and energy yields of wind energy systems” after a period of five years.

“We are very pleased to receive accreditation in the field of wind measurement,” said Klaus Bergmann, one of the three “Bs” at BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH. He is responsible for wind measurement and specialist reports at the company’s offices in Weiden, Bavaria. “Both accreditations once again demonstrate to our customers that our forecasts on project investments and future yields of wind park projects are highly reliable,” he added. The accuracy of wind measurement and specialist reports is of decisive importance to the overall success of a project. Even an error of only a few percentage points will have a direct effect on the results of yield studies, increasing risk to investors.

The accreditations document the diligence and accuracy with which the team of experts from Gelsenkirchen and Weiden goes about collecting and analysing measurement data. The DAkkS testing procedure strictly adheres to the specified criteria. The accreditation process not only includes checks on the measuring devices and data loggers used by the various companies, but also an external audit of their data-processing and administration procedures, as well as their wind calculations and forecasts.

Thanks to international agreements, DAkkS is able to guarantee mutual recognition of accreditation procedures. This allows customers to submit BBB specialist reports and certificates to foreign authorities and banks at any time.
