Introducing Photovoltaic Backwards

On a wider scale, Loser Chemie GmbH develops and distributes future-oriented and environment-friendly products, plants and processes that focus on a great many fields. One of the company’s particular niches, however, is the PV industry and it is currently pioneering the recycling of indium, gallium, tellurium, etc. from thin film photovoltaic waste. The company’s Dr. Wolfram Palitzsch offers an exclusive piece about the inexpensive and environmentally friendly recycling of PV scrap…

It is undisputable that unquestionable benefits are to be found with photovoltaic systems. The emission of greenhouse-gas from the manufacturing process is insignificant compared to the lifetime greenhouse-gas savings after installation and producing electricity. This green electricity displaces our dirtiest energy sources.
Therefore, it is understood that the photovoltaic industry is undergoing remarkable growth. Global solar PV installations are expected to soon reach a cumulative capacity of 200 GW, which will see solar producing more energy than 30 coal or nuclear plants combined, and will help save over 100 million tons of the greenhouse-gas CO2 annually.
