Focussing purely on cost does not address our true value


Although a relative newcomer to the PV market, Hirschmann Renewable Energy is one of the industry’s shining lights. And with expansion into new markets and product rollouts planned for the near future, it looks set to consolidate its early successes. We catch up with the company’s Günter Arens…

PES: Welcome back to PES. How has the PV sector been treating you since we last spoke?

Günter Arens: The demand for our new products that we have developed and launched has exceeded our expectations.

PES: Is business good across all regions for you? Is there one area that is particularly strong right now?

GA: We have built up our market position in Europe over the last two years and we are now looking to enter the Asian market. This move is part of our midterm strategy and is certainly supported by current and the long term market potential of that particular market. To answer your question. Asia is the place to be right now.

PES: When you first appeared in the magazine, you described yourselves as ‘new players to the market’. Does it still feel that way? How has the company evolved since you began trading in this sector?

GA: Over the last four years we have established ourselves as a strong player in the PV-Industry. Our customers appreciate our technical expertise, innovative product designs and our reliability.
