January 5, 2019: Vikram Solar, the globally recognized leading solar energy solutions provider was today awarded with ‘Best Contribution in Solar Energy’ at the CBIP Awards 2019 for outstanding contribution to the nation in the development of renewable energy sector. The award was conferred to Vikram Solar by the Hon’ble Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri. R. K. Singh.
CBIP celebrated CBIP Day 2019 on Friday, January 4, 2019 at SCOPE Convention Centre in New Delhi. Amongst other awardees were Hero Future Energies Private Limited and West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL).
Vikram Solar was the only organisation to be recognised under the Solar category at the coveted award ceremony. The award was in recognition of the company’s active contribution in shaping the solar revolution in India. Vikram Solar’s annual PV Module production capacity is 1 GW, and EPC portfolio (including commissioned and under-commissioning projects) stands at around 950 MW.
Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, CEO and Managing Director, Vikram Solar, said, “This is indeed a matter of great pride and honour for us. Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP) has been presenting awards since its inception in 1927 in order to recognize the outstanding contribution of various organizations, stakeholders & professionals and to promote excellence in the Water, Power and Renewable Energy sectors. In the past these prestigious awards have been presented by eminent dignitaries, such as Presidents and Prime Ministers of India, namely Dr. Zakir Hussain, Shri V.V. Giri, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Smt. Indira Gandhi, and Shri Rajiv Gandhi, to name a few.
