SolarMax launches modular storage system solution

Ellzee, 04.05.2017. In July 2017, inverter manufacturer SolarMax starts shipping its modular complete storage system MaxStorage TP-S, developed primarily for private applications. Since the product was first presented at Intersolar Europe 2016, the company has incorporated several improvements suggested by its customers before this market launch.

The three-phase system solution unites a lithium-ion storage battery, a self-learning energy management system and a seven-kilowatt SolarMax 7TP2 inverter in one housing. Thanks to its modular design it is always possible to retrofit a DC converter and battery pack, whereby the rated capacity of each battery module is 2.3 kilowatt-hours. Up to a total of four batteries can be added, enabling a rated capacity of up to 9.2 kilowatt-hours.

A bidirectional DC/DC booster ensures high efficiencies. The integrated MaxWeb XPN data logger regulates the energy flow and adjusts it to suit energy needs and availability. SolarMax continuously monitors the battery status, thus guaranteeing high availability. The model is supplied with numerous interfaces. These include LAN, RS485, Modbus, KNX and an interface for direct marketing. Compared with the prototype that SolarMax introduced at last year’s Intersolar Europe, the new system is now much more compact and can be quickly and easily installed by one person alone.

“With our complete storage solution, we are launching a product that fulfils all our customers’ wishes”, says a delighted Pierre Kraus, managing director of SolarMax Sales and Service GmbH, adding: “The compact design not only makes installation easier, but also servicing, which requires neither extensive training nor special tools.” The new storage system is manufactured at the SolarMax works in Burgau (Bavaria). The company provides a ten-year warranty.

SolarMax at Intersolar Europe

In addition to the new MaxStorage TP-S, at Intersolar Europe in Munich, the company will also be presenting its new HT Series string inverters with rated capacities of 20 and 25 kilowatts. The four models for smaller commercial and industrial plants are available with either two or four MPP trackers, meaning that they can also assure high yields in the event of shadowing and complex layouts. Visitors will find SolarMax at the exhibition site in Munich from May 31 to June 2 in Hall B3, stand number 550.
