[Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, September 11, 2017] Hanwha Q CELLS has attained the highest revenue and total shipments amongst solar panel manufacturers in the U.S.A. in 2016, the company announced at Solar Power International (SPI) in Las Vegas today. Hanwha Q CELLS presents its full portfolio of Q.ANTUM-based solar modules at the show from September 11 to 13, 2017. More than 600 companies showcase at SPI and over 50,000 attendees are expected to visit the exhibition hall, while Hanwha Q CELLS boasts the largest booth at the event.

At SPI, Hanwha Q CELLS launches the Q.PEAK DUO series, their brand new high-end-power monocrystalline modules based on Q.ANTUM half-cell technology. The monocrystalline modules reach efficiencies of close to 20% and power outputs of up to 395 Wp, guaranteeing linear performance of up to 85% after 25 years (Industry average: 82~83%). In addition, Hanwha Q CELLS will feature an all-black version with impressive aesthetics and its newly developed Q.HOME energy storage system.

Hanwha Q CELLS achieved brilliant performance in various other regional markets besides the U.S. In 2016, the company earned No.1 market share in Korea and Turkey. Moreover, Hanwha Q CELLS achieved No.2 market share in India, an emerging market.

In addition, Hanwha Q CELLS Japan achieved No.2 market share, surpassing other competitors such as Sharp and Panasonic. Hanwha Q CELLS entered the Japanese solar market in August of 2011, but only two years later in 2013, Hanwha Q CELLS Japan excelled as the largest foreign solar product provider. In 2016, Hanwha Q CELLS shipped 700 MW of solar modules, thus ranking second among solar suppliers in the country and accounting for 10% of market share. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the total amount of solar modules installed in Japan by the end of 2016 was 42.8 GW, of which 7% was supplied by Hanwha Q CELLS.

“The Q.PEAK DUO module series fulfills the needs of the high-power module market”, said Mr. Seong Woo Nam, Chairman and CEO of Hanwha Q CELLS. He continued, “We will do our best to continue developing breakthrough solutions to fulfill a full portfolio from residential to utility markets as a leading solar energy company.”
