Establishment of a Joint Venture Company for the ownership of m/v BBC Houston carrying the US flag

Teras Cargo Transport (America), LLC, a recognized full‐service marine transport and logistics service provider and BBC Chartering & Logistic GmbH & Co. KG, a recognized global leader in providing tailor‐made flexible shipping solutions for both heavy lift and project cargoes, announced this week that they have entered into a powerful alliance for the joint ownership of the multipurpose heavy lift vessel “BBC Houston”, which is now flagged with the US flag.

According to Svend Andersen, President and CEO of BBC Chartering, the US flagged vessel, m/v BBC Houston, is setting a milestone in the company’s history and “we are proud to be able to now offer a US flag vessel to our global customers through our US Company”.

Joe Sanders, President and CEO of Teras Cargo Transport, said, “This latest edition to our fleet, the m/v BBC Houston, will increase our presence in the United States and worldwide, and it will improve our service on every continent”.

The m/v BBC Houston, a 7,500 dwt multipurpose heavy lifter with combined crane capacity of 500mt and a service speed of 16.5 knots, is operated by the new joint venture company “Teras BBC Chartering Houston LLC” located in Houston. Teras BBC is jointly owned by the US subsidiaries of BBC Chartering and Teras. This new US flag service reinforces the strong commitment of Teras and BBC to the United States and to their clients that require breakbulk and heavy‐lift capabilities, already the unique strength of the Teras and BBC fleets.
