SOLARWATT appoints UK partners as demand for renewable energy drives expansion

SOLARWATT (http://www.solarwatt.net), the leading German pioneer of high-performance dual-glass solar PV energy production and storage systems, has appointed its first partners in its expansion aimed at bringing advanced renewable-energy generation and management systems to homes across the UK.

The company will work with BHC Distributors Ltd (www.bhcdistributors.co.uk) and BHC’s sister company Solar Power NI initially serving domestic and business customers in Northern Ireland. SPNI has built a strong reputation as a specialist professional installer of SOLARWATT dual-glass panels and BHC is a recognised SOLARWATT distributor, having installed 50kW systems at five Charles Hurst vehicle dealerships in Northern Ireland and a further five Lookers sites in England.

With 23 years’ experience and employing more than 200 people at its leading-edge manufacturing and logistics centre in Dresden, SOLARWATT is committed to expansion following a substantial investment by Stefan Quandt, of the family that owns BMW. Solar power is gaining traction due to international carbon reduction obligations and concerns over energy costs and fuel security – boosted by technology advances such as SOLARWATT’s ground-breaking MyReserve storage system.

Installers and customers respond positively to SOLARWATT’s premium product portfolio and 30-year product guarantees and five-year insurance plans. Fixing energy costs, locking in savings by storing and using energy from solar panels rather than feeding it back into the grid, is set to become more attractive as fossil-fuel prices continue their long-term upward trend.

Solar Power NI and BHC Distributors are part of the McHenry Group, a family business established for 40 years in Ballycastle. BHC is also active in the Republic of Ireland where it will supply SOLARWATT PV modules, storage and intelligent energy systems. The Republic is expected to see a rise in demand for domestic and commercial renewable energy systems, encouraged by Government incentives.

Pol Spronck, SOLARWATT’s International Sales Manager, said: “We have been working with SPNI and BHC for a long time and now is the time to take our relationship to the next stage. We’ll be working more closely with these companies to provide the support they need to bring the latest in renewable energy efficiency and value to households and businesses across Northern Ireland and the Republic.”
