Global Soft Landing Center for Small and Medium-sized German Companies engaged in the "Renewable Energies" Industry to be launched in the USA in June 2009!Official Announcement and "Virtual Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony" to take place on May 6th 2009 at the WINDPOWER® 2009 in Chicago, Illinois{pagebreak}Düsseldorf/Philadelphia, April 20, 2009. The new American government is bringing the energy turnaround forward, also under the omen of the bank and financial crisis. On February 17th 2009, the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009" was decreed. This act, amongst others, aims at strongly supporting renewable energies in the USA.The act contains tax incentives and new investments amounting to approx. 787 Billion USD. Thereof, approximately 43 Billion US-Dollars are planned for the new „green energy infrastructure". The new and longer-termed planning horizon is also of great significance for projects within the field of "renewable energies" as well as advancement of commercial projects.Windboom USA - A Huge Market creates Opportunities for German Businesses Even during the past years, the American wind industry boom has demonstrated what is possible: 8.358 MW of wind-produced electricity went on line in the USA in 2008 alone. Compared to 2007, this was equal to a 50%-increase. During the past five years, the average annual growth

With a total output of one megawatt the solar power plant on the former ordnance depot is one of the largest in Franconia. Twenty-seven inverters made by the Swiss manufacturer Sputnik Engineering AG turn the power generated by the 5,700 solar modules into the alternating current used on the grid.{pagebreak}The solar modules generate roughly one million kilowatts annually, enough to power 400 households. On the 16 May, the system supplier Sunflower and the inverter maker Sputnik Engineering introduced this showpiece to the general public. After the ceremonial opening speech, Sunflow presented its newly developed tracking system that boosts the yield from solar power plants by as much as 30 percent. "We have developed this system in cooperation with the Amberg-Weiden University especially for industrial roofs," explained Sunflow CEO Stephan Riß. In the case of these roofs, you have to take into account their varying static and design characteristics. Because the roofs are very light they cannot support heavy loads. Moreover, the sun sail must not be too large, so that it cannot be damaged by the wind. "We have built a light-weight but stable system," according to Riß. A test plant will go into operation this month at the Amberg-Weiden

Solar Heat Exchange Manufacturing to Announce New Simple Drainback System at SOLAR 2009PERRY, KS, May 4, 2009 - Solar Heat Exchange Manufacturing, an innovative leader in the solar water heating industry, will introduce its newest product, the Simple Drainback Solar Water Heating System for residential and commercial applications at the ASES SOLAR 2009 tradeshow in Buffalo, NY.{pagebreak}The Simple Drainback System overcomes many of the challenges associated with traditional solar water heating systems. The patent pending system uses the tank to serve as both the storage tank and the drainback reservoir. The internal Hot Spring heat exchanger coil is piped to the domestic water line in order to transfer the stored heat to the domestic water line. This configuration allows for a single pump, a controller, and solar collectors to supply the system with solar energy."I have been installing solar water heating systems for nearly 30 years and am well aware of the numerous difficulties installers have to deal with. As we developed the Simple Drainback, we attempted to overcome all of the challenges associated with training dealers and installing solar hot water systems," states Mr. Bruce Ewing, CEO of Solar Heat Exchange Manufacturing. "This system minimizes the number of connections

KUKA Systems supplies new innovative photovoltaic solutionsThe PV industry is striving for thinner wa-fers and high efficiency photovoltaic cells. In addition to the need for higher automation and reliability KUKA Systems' Energy Team has designed a new generation of wafer gripping solutions which is based on KUKA's top selling KR Sixx and Scara Robots.{pagebreak}Two new gripper technologies will be introduced in 2009:High Speed Ultra Thin GripperThis extremely thin and robust solution made of carbon fibre allows high speed gripping and precise positioning at one time. Integrated multiple vacuum chan-nels ensure firmly gripping of the wafers for fast movement and soft holding for accurate positioning.A special configuration allows an easy rotation through the centre of the cells for placing in cell carriers for wet benches, CVD applications or others. By using carbon fibre, a gripper thickness of 3 mm is made possible, which combines robustness and flexibility at the same time. Hence single wafers or cells can be picked from carriers from any position.Touchless Gripping and TransportHigh efficiency cells require an extreme handling sensitivity combined with high speed handling. For this purpose, KUKA relies on the solution of German Zimmermann & Schilp combining ultrasound with vacuum technology: An ultra-sonic cushion ensures
