• Sparkasse Furstenfeldbruck to finance two solar parks for the firsttime • Major German bank to finance the third solar power plantSulzemoos 26 May 2009 / In the past few weeks, Phoenix Solar AG (ISINDE000A0BVU93), a leading photovoltaic system integrator listed on the TecDAX, started construction work on three photovoltaic power plants in Türkenfeld, Hohenzell and Malching, all located in the District of Fürstenfeldbruck. The financing of the first two power plants has been secured through Sparkasse Fürstenfeldbruck, and the solar plant in Malching will be financed by a major German bank.Upon its completion in June 2009, the Turkenfeld power plant, with a peak output of more than three megawatts (MWp), will supply around 900 households with environmentally compatible electricity. The Malching power plant with 4.7 MWp will supply more than 1,300 households and the ground-mounted power plant in Hohenzell with 2.7 MWp around 750 households. With a total output of one megawatt the solar power plant on the former ordnance depot is one of the largest in Franconia. Twenty-seven inverters made by the Swiss manufacturer Sputnik Engineering AG turn the power generated by the 5,700 solar modules into the alternating current used on the grid.{pagebreak}The solar modules generate roughly one million kilowatts annually, enough to power 400 households. On the 16 May, the system supplier Sunflower and the inverter maker Sputnik Engineering introduced this showpiece to the general public. After the ceremonial opening speech, Sunflow presented its newly developed tracking system that boosts the yield from solar power plants by as much as 30 percent. "We have developed this system in cooperation with the Amberg-Weiden University especially for industrial roofs," explained Sunflow CEO Stephan Riß. In the case of these roofs, you have to take into account their varying static and design characteristics. Because the roofs are very light they cannot support heavy loads.
