Xodus Group and BW Research Partnership will conduct a research project to assess the local and regional supply chain in support of the growing offshore wind industry in and around Massachusetts. Working on behalf of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (“MassCEC”), Xodus and BW Research, in coordination with Greentree Consulting and the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership, will deliver a comprehensive offshore wind supply chain assessment and gap analysis. This will be based on the requirements of both developers and tier one companies, and the capabilities, qualifications and interest of Massachusetts companies and neighbouring states. With much of the offshore wind facilities currently manufactured and produced overseas, MassCEC is supporting efforts to develop a robust local supply chain in Massachusetts and throughout the region that can manufacture and produce turbine components and associated equipment at a scale necessary to serve planned and anticipated offshore wind projects. Project will reduce fuel consumption by 10-13% and cut carbon emissions   20,000 solar panels combined with 2MW battery system London, 7th October – Aggreko, a world-leading provider of energy services, has partnered with global gold miner Gold Fields to complete the installation of one of the world’s largest renewable energy microgrids for the Granny Smith gold mine in Western Australia.   The new hybrid power system, which has been integrated with Aggreko’s existing gas fired power station, is powered by more than 20,000 solar panels and supported by a 2 MW/1 MWh battery system. Once fully operational, it will reduce the mine’s fuel consumption by 10-13% - the equivalent of removing 2,000 cars from the road. Good mean wind speeds at site and technology enable subsidy-free wind farm operation Hamburg, 9 October 2020. At the end of the 3rd Quarter, the Nordex Group received an order for the delivery of thirteen N133/4.8 turbines in the UK. The order also includes a 15 year Premium service contract for the turbines linked to production-based availability. The 62 MW wind farm will be built in a former coal mining region in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The site is characterized by good mean wind speeds of 8.6 meters per second, perfect for the turbine variant for strong wind locations of the Delta4000 generation turbines. Installation of the turbines will start in autumn 2021. The project and customer are undisclosed.
