The projects involved multiple customers and pumps were supplied for both new-build power stations and upgrade projects across the country. Chile’s ISO licenses Luz del Norte power plant to supply ancillary services TEMPE, Ariz., August 20, 2020 – First Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSLR) today announced that its 141-megawatt (MW)AC Luz del Norte photovoltaic (PV) power plant is the world’s first known utility-scale solar facility licensed to deliver ancillary grid services commercially. Chile’s independent system operator (ISO), Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional, recently added Luz del Norte to its portfolio of large-scale power generators that are approved to deliver a range of grid services, including automatic generation control (AGC). The facility, located in Copiapó, Chile, is now being used by the ISO to manage the frequency of the country’s electricity system, helping ensure the grid’s reliability and stability, in addition to generating clean, renewable energy. Thursday, August 20, 2020 — DEME Offshore has been awarded a substantial (1) EPCI contract for the inter-array cables at the Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B wind farms in the UK, the first two phases of the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm which is the world’s biggest offshore wind farm under development. The far-reaching scope includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the subsea cables for the combined 2.4 GW wind farm. DEME Offshore will supply, install and protect 650 km of 66 kV inter-array cables and all related accessories. Dogger Bank Wind Farm is located more than 130 km off the North East coast of England and is currently being developed in three 1.2 GW phases by joint venture partners SSE Renewables and Equinor. Cornwall Insight has examined the recent trends in the Offshore Transmission Owners (OFTO) tender process. The below graph highlights the relationship over time, between the Tender Revenue Stream (TRS), or the fixed revenue stream the OFTO owner receives from the offshore wind farm, and the Transfer Value (TV), which the OFTO owner will pay to the developer upon transfer of the asset. The analysis here shows there has been a progressive reduction in rate through each additional Tender Round (TR). Tom Palmer, Managing Consultant at Cornwall Insight, said: “This reduction is important as a lower percentage demonstrates the lower revenues expected by the asset owner or investor, which is determined by the more reasonable cost of borrowing, certainty in the regulatory regime and the level of risk for investors. “The reduction in this rate is predominately due to increased confidence, lower financing costs and changes to the scheme.
