Under the terms of the contract entered into with the renewable energy IPP, Neoen, Siemens Gamesa will build the entire complex on an EPC basis and then maintain it for 25 years. DNV GL conducted independent technical analysis and Vendor’s Due Diligence of the entire 26.1MW Ventus portfolio, comprising 53 operational feed-in-tariff wind turbines. The Due Diligence included a technical assessment of energy production, capabilities of the wind turbines, asset condition and operational risk. DNV GL reached milestone of due diligence for over 30 GW of wind projects. London, United Kingdom – 10th April 2018: DNV GL secured a leading role as technical advisor to GVO Wind Ltd and Bluemerang Capital Ltd, supporting the sale of an 80% stake of the 26.1MW Ventus portfolio of wind projects. Ventus is the UK’s largest portfolio of feed-in-tariff (FiT) wind turbines, comprising 53 operational projects located across the UK. The portfolio was acquired by Malaysian power utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). This is TNB’s second acquisition in the UK, which brings its renewables portfolio to a total capacity of approximately 280MW. In accordance with the German Offshore Wind Energy Act (WindSeeG), preliminary assessment of soil conditions must be performed before contracts can be awarded for new offshore wind farm clusters in the North and Baltic Sea. Important information relating to the marine environment, the subsoil, and the wind and oceanographic conditions allow bidders to assess the construction costs and expected return more accurately.  The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has selected Fraunhofer IWES, among others, to conduct initial exploratory work for the first bidding round. Researchers will compile 3D seabed models based on geophysical data. The so-called multichannel seismic survey method delivers high-resolution data for soil layers at all relevant depths for wind turbine fundaments. The measurement campaign to collect the data is planned for September. Knowledge of the soil conditions is all-important when planning and developing offshore wind parks: This information can be used as a basis when selecting and sizing the support structures for wind turbines. Ampelmann’s A400 gangway system has set sail from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on Vroon’s Subsea Support and Walk to Work VOS Stone vessel to undertake its first deployment to transfer crew and cargo in the Arkona offshore wind farm, located in the German Baltic Sea. The A400 is the latest addition to Ampelmann’s growing portfolio of innovative gangway systems and was designed and manufactured specifically for the offshore wind market. It was fabricated at the company’s dedicated manufacturing facility in Rotterdam. It follows the launch of the AEP and the N-type gangway systems in 2017. The ‘plug and play’ system combines the established motion compensation technology of Ampelmann’s A-type system with a 1.2 metre gangway to support the use of generic cargo trolleys and euro sized pallet trolleys.
