Aberdeen-based AISUS has invested a six-figure sum in upgrading and developing cutting edge inspection technology as it looks to further broaden its range of services and increase its geographical reach to provide its customers with the most efficient, cost-effective technological solutions. AISUS has today (Monday 30th October) launched an improved internal gravity deployed ultrasonic scanning tool, SIRIUS-X, for completing ultrasonic corrosion mapping within offshore caissons, risers and conductors. Following successful field trials, it recently completed its first caisson inspection programme for a major UK oil and gas operator. The projects were completed in 14 days and included internal inspection of the largest diameter caisson AISUS has delivered to date. The SIRIUS-X is controlled from the topside, allowing inspection data to be captured above, within and below a variety of obstacles and diameter variations commonly encountered within caissons, without removing the tool. It has been developed to maximise data accuracy and minimise the duration of inspections to meet the increasing demands of the offshore industry. Moray Offshore Windfarm East (Ltd) (known as ‘Moray East’) is pleased to announce that MHI Vestas has been selected as preferred turbine supplier for the project – a 950MW offshore windfarm in the Outer Moray Firth, 22km from the East Coast of Scotland. The scope will include the supply and installation of 100 Vestas V164-9.5MW offshore wind turbine generators. Moray Offshore Windfarm East is a joint venture company owned by EDP Renewables (77pc) and ENGIE (23pc).  The project was recently awarded a £57.50/MWhr contract for Difference (CfD) by the UK Government. The project site is located west of the city of Tromsø in northern Norway on two neighboring mountains. On Kvitfjell 47 units will be installed, and another 20 units will be installed on Raudfjell. Two contracts for a combined 37.2 MW signed Hamburg, 26 October 2017. The Nordex Group was again awarded orders for the delivery of wind turbines to France in the third quarter. In 2018, it will be supplying fourteen wind power systems with an aggregate capacity of 37.2 MW. Starting in February, Nordex will be delivering six N117/3000 turbines for the “Coesmes” wind farm located around 40 kilometres south east of Rennes. The turbines will be installed on the top of 120-metre high towers to ensure maximum utilisation of the good local wind conditions. At the same time, the systems permit quiet turbine operation. The customer is the project developer VSB Energies Nouvelles. In addition, Nordex will be installing the “Valbin” wind farm near Troyes from April 2018. The project comprises eight N117/2400 turbines and also includes service for an initial period of 15 years. Developed by Eolfi, the wind farm is now owned by investor Leonidas Associates, which will be operating it.
