The independent service provider Deutsche Windtechnik and the Danish project developer and operator European Energy A/S are expanding their cooperation in the area of onshore maintenance. The companies already have a number of existing agreements, and representatives of both companies signed an additional full maintenance contract for the Briesensee and Gaurettersheim wind farms on Wednesday at the Husum Wind trade fair. The agreement will run for ten years. The new full maintenance contract will come into effect in 2019 and includes all maintenance activities in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, including repairs and replacement of large components and rotor blades, if necessary. Deutsche Windtechnik guarantees an energetic availability for the turbines of 97 percent. Long-term partnership with a view to the future The companies have cooperated for a long time already, and European Energy A/S is once again putting full confidence in Deutsche Windtechnik. HUSUM | 15 September 2017 – HUSUM Wind was once again the home of the wind industry for a week. Visitors and exhibitors discussed technical innovations and political conditions, made new contacts and filled their order books. They made a positive assessment of the exhibition week, which once again underscored the diversity and dynamics of the German market.  A total of around 700 exhibitors from Germany and 25 other countries came together in Husum. Despite the turbulent course of the fair, visitor figures remain stable compared with 2015. The Chinese factory will produce an annual 3.3 million solar panels yielding a combined power supply of 1 GW per annum. Sunport Power CEO Dr Zhang: "Back-contact modules come with substantial benefits. The most important being production capacity per panel in comparison to traditional methods. Thanks to our Eurotron production line that was already in operation, my clients already experience these advantages first-hand. Back-contact solar panels avoid capacity losses associated with shade and resistance in traditional panels. This means our clients generate more energy per square metre.” Based on their experience with back-contact solar panel production, Sunport Power, situated in Nanjing, China, chose to ramp up its output of back-contact PV modules. German EPC Provider KRAFTWERK Renewable Power Solutions has begun construction of the PV-battery diesel hybrid system at the luxurious Tierra Atacama Hotel & Spa, part of the Tierra Hotels collection. Through the expansion of its existing PV plant and the addition of a storage system, the off-grid hotel located in the Atacama Desert will benefit from 60-65% annual diesel savings. Together with smart energy storage solutions provider QINOUS, KRAFTWERK will implement a 335 kWh high-efficient Lithium-Ion battery storage and management solution that guarantees extended hours of operations with 100% solar energy, an uninterrupted power supply and a longer lifetime of the existing diesel generators. After installing and commissioning a total of 862 turbines in the UK and Ireland, the Nordex Group has now reached the 2 GW milestone of installed capacity in these two countries.   Just under 1.5 GW of this is in the UK as well as what is fast approaching 600MW installed in the Republic of Ireland.  An additional milestone of three quarters of a gigawatt installed throughout both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland has also been reached.  At typical capacity factors, this represents enough power for 1.3 million homes, resulting in a market share of installed turbines of around 20% in the Republic of Ireland and around 10% in the UK. The independent service provider Deutsche Windtechnik and the energy supplier Vattenfall are expanding their cooperation in offshore maintenance: On the one hand, Vattenfall has extended the duration of its cooperation agreement with Deutsche Windtechnik in the area of maintenance for all steel structures at the offshore wind farm (OWF) DanTysk. On the other, the service provider is now also responsible for these important maintenance tasks at Vattenfall's second major offshore wind farm project, the OWF Sandbank, which went into operation in July 2017. The new contract includes inspection, maintenance and repair of all foundation structures (monopiles for the wind turbines and jacket structures for the offshore substations), the transition pieces, and the internal cabling for the wind farm, above as well as under water. There will be further collaboration during construction and production monitoring as well as in the areas of fault elimination work and switching operations.
