Global specialist in blade repair and inspection hired by major manufacturer as regional partner to deliver EOW inspections in UK and Australia London, 29 September 2016 – Blade repair and inspection specialist, Altitec, has partnered with a leading manufacturer of on- and offshore wind turbines, to provide end of warranty (EOW) blade inspections and repairs in the UK and Australia, expanding the company’s global presence. Under the terms of the contract, Altitec will provide EOW inspections at 100 sites throughout the UK. In addition, Altitec technicians will return to Victoria, Australia in October to carry out further EOW blade repairs, following the successful completion of an initial six-week tour in June. Blade damage is the most common cause of downtime across the wind energy sector, according to a recent report from renewable energy insurer, GCube, and EOW inspections and repairs are an essential part of ensuring long-term operational performance. The end of the warranty period is a crucial phase for both manufacturer and project owner, since it marks a transition in where responsibility lies for technical issues experienced on site. Seoul, South Korea – September 28, 2016 – GustoMSC, Halla Wind Energy and Korean Maritime Consultants (KOMAC) signed a three-way Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the intention to mutually develop and design the GustoMSC Tri-Floater, a floating foundation for floating wind turbines for the Dongbu project at Jeju Island (Korea), a Halla Wind Energy development site. The three-way MoU has been signed in the presence of the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte. The brief ceremony took place at The Shilla Hotel in Seoul as part of a large Dutch trade mission to Korea led by the Dutch RVO and the Embassy of Holland in Seoul. Within the MoU, GustoMSC is responsible for the basic design of the foundation for the floating wind turbine, the GustoMSC Tri-Floater design. KOMAC will perform the detailed design of the floater, whilst a manufacturer still needs to be chosen. The MoU serves to provide a framework for understanding and cooperation between the three parties for the achievement of their common goals regarding the Dongbu Project. The Company’s vast experience in cable storage is already providing customers with peace of mind for their asset integrity management. The Company said one OFTO (Offshore Transmission Owner) client is already utilising the facility’s new capability. The purpose-built secured storage facility offers the ideal environment for the long-term protection of these valuable assets, in particular from Ultra Violet (UV) degradation and large temperature fluctuations, both key criteria for helping to ensure future trouble-free deployment.  The facility has been providing fibre optic cable storage for 18 years, and in addition to the new power cable carousels, contains 33 telecoms cable tanks, with a total capacity of 8,750 m3. Hamburg: Senvion, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbines, has signed a conditional contract with Elicio NV for the delivery, installation and commissioning of 21 Senvion MM100 for the wind farm Alibunar in Serbia at the Hamburg WindEnergy Fair. The installation is planned to take place in fall 2018 close to the wind farm Malibunar, where Senvion already closed another conditional deal with the customer over four Senvion MM100. For both projects, Senvion will take care of servicing over a period of 15 years.
